Celebrating Mexican Culture

I’ve always wanted to visit Mexico, as I admire how the beautiful country is full of color, beliefs, music, emblematic food, and joy throughout.

I’m not Mexican myself, but I admire the traditions of Mexican culture. Some of my personal favorites are birthday piñatas, the Cinco de Mayo Festival, traditional Mexican music, and the delicious food. I know I’m not the only one. My friends who are Mexican have taught me how universal Mexican traditions are, and about their strong and beautiful heritage.

When I first arrived in Texas about ten years ago, the first thing that made me fall in love with my new home was Mexican food. Since then, I’ve learned a lot more about Mexican culture other than how delicious the food is.

Today I decided to have a family dinner at home to celebrate Mexican culture, as I know many friends who are celebrating Dia de Los Muertos. Of course, I decided to go to Walmart where I knew I could get everything I needed to decorate. Walmart is the perfect one-stop-shop for finding everything from your common sense needs to the smallest little details to make any celebration infinitely more festive (and you know that I love details). With the help of my friends’ expertise, and with great respect, I’ve tried to decorate appropriately for the occasion. While I don’t personally celebrate, I think there’s a lot we can learn and admire from such a rich and loving culture.

From the comfort of my home, I ordered colorful wreaths, plates, glasses, lights, candles and candle holders online. Then, we were able to get food, drinks, and supplies through the #Walmart pickup service. What more could we ask for!
